Layered design

The new website has a layered design. The top layer is in Dutch and directed at a broader audience, i.e. anyone in the Netherlands who is interested in the applications of statistics or the VVSOR. The second layer is the members layer. This part is in English and is directed at VVSOR’s own members. All information intended for members, like society meetings, awards, vacancies, etc. are available in this layer. The last layer are the webpages off all individual sections. Each section has their own sub website to keep their member updated on their news and meetings.

Unity

One of the goals for the design of website was to unify all of VVSOR’s sections, such that visitors can clearly see that, even though each section focusses on their own expertise, they are all part of the same society. This goal was reached by using the same main structure and design for all websites of the individual sections, but giving them the freedom to choose their own navigation system, such that all individual requirements are still met.

Furthermore, all sections were given a new logo which matches the VVSOR’s new logo. To keep their individuality, each section got its own color scheme.

Contribute!

Everybody is welcome to write articles for the website. All articles should be written with a broad audience in mind. All ideas can be submitted to the webmaster via webmaster@vvsor.nl. One of the features of this website is the possibility to include LaTeX. Check this this normal distribution:
