The Jan Hemelrijk Award 2025 is given to Joshua Rooijakkers (Erasmus School of Economics) for the thesis titled “Robust and Conjugate Multi-Output Gaussian Processes”. The research of the thesis is partially carried out at the University College London. The thesis extends the framework of robust and conjugate Gaussian processes to multiple dimensions, so to handle multiple outputs simultaneously. It combines scientific innovation with relevant applications such as cancer drug-response. Joshua’s contribution is clearly visible, there is excellent and advanced theoretical analysis, and the empirical validation makes it a practical convincing work.
