Do you want to learn more on research practice of communicating statistics to a broad audience?
Join us on October 10, 2018, for the first meeting on Statistics Communication in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Together with leading specialists, we’ll be discussing how statistics and risk are perceived and understood in decision making, education, journalism, science and more.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Prof. Dr. Gerd Gigerenzer, Director of the Harding Center for Risk Literacy at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin and partner of Simply Rational – The Institute of Decisions. He has written several academic books on the topic of decision making and the understanding of risks and uncertainties. He is also author of several award-winning books that have been translated in 21 languages. His keynote address will build on his extensive experience communicating statistics to the public.
- Dr. P. S. (Nel) Verhoeven, Senior Research Consultant, former Dean at the HZ University of Applied Sciences and Associate Professor at University College Roosevelt. She will share her experience in communicating statistics in research and education, and how to translate statistics to the media.
