The Sociaal-wetenschappelijke Sectie van de Vereniging Voor Statistiek en Operations Research (SWS; Social Sciences Division of the Netherlands Statistical Society) promotes the use of new and sound statistical methods in the social and behavioral sciences. The SWS appeal to both statisticians working in the social and behavioral sciences and applied researchers in the social and behavioral sciences. The SWS organizes one or two annual meetings on a statistical topic, which are then announced in the Upcoming Events block on this page.
Members of the SWS receive the ISI journal Statistica Neerlandica, the vvsor newsletter (in Dutch), and the non-specialist journal StatOr (in Dutch). Members have free entrance to all meetings organized by the vvsor. Moreover, members of the SWS allow the preservation of the only professional association for methodologists and statisticians working in the social and behavioral sciences.
