On the 21st of November, the Dutch OR society board organizes the annual Young OR Day at the Dutch railways, NS! The Young OR Day is an initiative to bring together young professionals and academics working in the field of Operations Research.
The day will consist of several presentations and a tour at NS. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the Operations Research topics across various NS departments and projects. There will also be a visit to the Operational Control Center Rail (OCCR).

14:15 – 15:15 Introduction & presentation on personnel planning
15:15 – 16:30 Tour at OCCR
16:30 – 17:00 Presentation on rolling stock dispatching
17:00 – 17:30 Break
17:30 – 18:30 Demonstrations of OR applications at NS
18:30 ~ Dinner in Utrecht at Comptoir Libanais
The event costs 5,- euro for members of the NGB and 25,- euros for non-members, dinner is included. You can become a member at our website. The membership is free for students and PhD’s, €37.50 for people under the age of 30, and €75,- for an ordinary membership.
