On the 9th of November, the Dutch OR society board organizes the second Young OR Day at PostNL. The Young OR Day is an initiative to bring together young professionals and academics working in the field of Operations Research.
The day will consist of several presentations and a tour at two PostNL locations! This event takes place in the afternoon and evening, as the processes we are going to look at take place then. The first stop is at the E-commerce fulfillment center (ECS) in Houten and the second stop at the automated sorting center for small parcels (SKP) in Nieuwegein. The emphasis will be on understanding the process in practice. To get you enthusiastic, you can find two small movies of the locations here, one of the ECS and of SKP!

The event is free for members of the Dutch OR society and 25,- euros for non-members. You can become a member at our website. The membership is free for students and PhD’s, €37.50 for people under the age of 30, and €75,- for an ordinary membership.
Note, there is a maximum number of participants for this event, so don’t wait too long to enroll!
