On Friday 30 October 2026 we will hold a symposium in memory of Hans van Houwelingen, who passed away on 14 May. Hans was a brilliant scientist and a great personality, whose work and mentorship have shaped biostatistics in Leiden, in the Netherlands and far beyond. With this afternoon we want to bring together colleagues, friends and former students to remember him and to reflect on his contributions to our field.
The symposium starts at 2 pm and will take place in Lecture Hall 1 of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). For registration, please fill out the registration form here. Please register by 16 October at the latest.
Since it may be difficult for those joining from abroad to attend in person, the symposium can also be followed online here. Please note that the online stream will be one-way, with no possibility for remote participation.
