We are looking for new junior board members starting November/December 2025! As a junior member, you will take part to the efforts of the current board, including organisational affairs for the larger VVSOR division.

About us and the VVSOR

The VVSOR an organization for statisticians by statisticians, with the purpose of promoting statistics and research. We organize a lot of events, seminars and other opportunities related to statistics and operations research.

As the Young Statisticians, we’re the entrypoint, connecting students and young adults to the organization. Although currently all board members are based in Leiden, we are a nationwide organization, meaning students from all over the Netherlands are welcome!

About the position

As a junior member, you will:

• Participate in the meetings of the Young Statisticians, in a casual and cosy environment
• Have a hands-on role in planning and promoting our events, such as booking venues, contacting guests, and making graphics
• Carry out other minor tasks
• Have great networking opportunities with professional statisticians from other VVSOR sections and boards
• Have the chance to become part of the new board as senior members!

You will not have an ‘assigned role’ like the permanent members of the board; instead, you will be able to volunteer for any task that needs to be done. There is no minimum or maximum hours you would need to be available; all tasks are on a voluntary basis, and we understand that there are busier periods!

Ideally, we would like to find members who would like to stay in the board for at least 2 years.
